Two things protect the gear and the relationship: a refundable security deposit at pickup, and a one-page rental agreement that places full loss / damage liability on the renter. No broker, no insurance pass-through, no waiver upsell.
Set by gear value, paid by bank transfer (FPX / DuitNow) before pickup. Returned within three working days of a clean drop-off.
Plain English. The renter is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage during the hire period, up to the listed replacement value of each item.
Company SSM extract (or IC for individuals), a billing address, two industry references. Done once, kept on file for repeat bookings.
Clubs, broadcasters and production houses we've worked with before get the deposit reduced or waived. Large jobs can substitute a post-dated cheque or a bank guarantee.
The rental agreement makes you responsible for the LU300 from the moment it leaves our office until we sign it back in. If the unit comes back damaged, the repair is invoiced to you and (if small) deducted from the deposit. If it's a total loss or theft, you pay the replacement value of RM 9,000, less any deposit already held.
There is no broker, no waiver, no third party. It's the deposit, the agreement, and the trust we've built over time. The cheapest way for both of us is for the unit to come back in one piece.
Liability cap for this hire: RM 9,000
The full PDF is signed before pickup. What follows is a plain-English summary of what you're agreeing to, so there are no surprises.
The agreement covers the items listed in the booking, for the dates listed. Anything added on-site is added in writing.
Boss Rental remains the owner of all equipment. The renter has a right to use it for the duration of the hire.
The renter agrees to use the equipment within manufacturer specifications and to store it securely (out of sight in vehicles, locked overnight).
The renter is responsible for any loss, theft, or damage from the moment of pickup to the moment we sign it back in. Liability is capped at the listed replacement value of each item.
The deposit secures performance under this agreement. It is refundable in full on clean drop-off, returned within three working days by bank transfer.
Small damage is repaired and invoiced (or deducted from the deposit). Total loss is invoiced at the replacement value listed in the booking.
Theft from a locked vehicle, with a police report filed within 24 hours, is split per the schedule in clause 7 of the PDF. Without a police report, the renter is liable in full.
The agreement is governed by Malaysian law. Disputes resolved in the courts of Kuala Lumpur.
Yes. Once the gear is back in our office, checked, and signed in clean, the deposit is returned by FPX or DuitNow within three working days. We don't sit on it.
Insurance pass-through and damage waivers add cost and friction for everyone, and in practice the deposit plus the rental agreement do the same job for hires of this size. If you have your own equipment-hire policy already, even better — bring proof and we can reduce the deposit at our discretion.
Cancel up to 48 hours before pickup and the hire and deposit are fully refunded. Inside 48 hours, the hire is billed at 50%. Same-day cancellations are billed at full rate. The deposit is always refunded once cancellation is confirmed.
Clubs, broadcasters, and production houses we've worked with three or more times, with no incidents, move to a waived deposit on Tier A and B, and a reduced deposit on Tier C. We'll let you know the first time you cross that threshold.
Call us. We'll bring out a replacement if we have one and document the damaged item. The hire continues; the damage is settled at drop-off (deducted from the deposit or invoiced separately if it exceeds the deposit).
On Tier B and Tier C, yes — for corporate accounts with an SSM extract on file. Post-dated cheques are also accepted from production houses we already know.
Pick a tier inside the booking form. Deposit invoiced once we approve the hire.
